Guide to ES6 w/Vijay Menon

Please RSVP via Eventbrite to be included on the guest list: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/guide-to-es6-wvijay-menon-tickets-95449499021

When: March 4th, 7 pm @Farmers Insurance, Woodland Hills, CA

ES6, aka the next iteration of JavaScript has pretty much become the dominant way to write modern JavaScript for web development. It appears in almost all modern frameworks including React, Angular and Vue.

This syntax, while new and exciting to use, still confuses many developers, especially developers old and new.

In this meetup, we will preview common syntax including variables, scope, function declarations, arrow functions, as well as more advanced concepts like promises, generators, and JavaScript module export/import. We’ll also look at code samples including React, TypeScript, Angular and work together to decipher common patterns. Finally, for those a little more advanced, we’ll talk about how to integrate Babel with a working environment like Webpack so you can try out the latest ES2020 syntax, should you want to play around with some of the most cutting edge JavaScript syntax available!

Can’t make the meetup? No problem, Vijay will record and post the meetup lecture afterwards to Youtube.com/JavaScriptLA. Subscribe there to get all the past and most current videos from JavaScriptLA.

Vijay also wrote a book available for Amazon Kindle, called Survive Programming: A Guide to ES6 (https://amzn.to/2P2igsW), as well as a video course on Teachable (https://hackbuddy.teachable.comwith over 8 hours of content (should you like to go at your own pace to learn).
